North Coast Air offers Ground School for Private & Sport Pilots several times per year. This course covers all required knowledge to prepare you for the Private Pilot's written exam. This is the same course as was offered at the SRJC in the past.By popular demand, sessions run Wednesday nights at North Coast Air, Inc. in the upstairs office and will run every Wednesday from 6:30pm to 9:30 pm for 13 weeks – a standard college semester. Cost of the course is $250 for 40 plus hours of instruction and will be team taught by Steve Benedict, Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) and other instructors.

You should attend if you are:
· working on your pilot's license,
· planning to work on your pilot's license
· brushing up after a hiatus in flying
· a flying companion
· interested in learning about aviation
· or just plane crazy ;-D
This course will introduce students to aviation opportunities, pilot training requirements, airplane systems, aerodynamic principles, the flight environment, flight planning and human factors. Students will have the opportunity to get to know members of the local aviation community and, circumstances permitting, visit maintenance facilities and control tower.
Those students who plan to take the private pilot written test will obtain the necessary aeronautical knowledge and meet the prerequisites specified in Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 61. A Certificate of Completion will be issued at the end of the course which authorizes you to take the FAA Knowledge Examination.
The FAA Knowledge Examination is given at North Coast Air, Inc., an approved FAA testing facility, for an additional fee.
