Bill got his Private Pilot certificate in 1982 at Eureka Murray Field. Heearned his instrument, multi-engine commercial and instructor certificated in 1987 in Los Angeles. He taught flying for a couple of years at Fla-Bob airport in Riverside before his children were born necessitating a choice between flight instruction and his firefighting career. He chose to stay with CalFire, keeping his flying skills current and building flying experience on the side over the years. He retired from CalFire after a 29 year career and reinstated as a flight instructor in 2011. Bill has no flying career ambitions other than to be the best primary instructor he can be. He is very happy.
